Pioneer DJ has unveiled two new studio monitor headphones at Musikmesse: the Pioneer  DJ HRM-5 and the HRM-6. They complete the studio monitor series from Pioneer DJ, with the already available HRM-7.

A few key features from the Pioneer DJ site:

6th April 2016: We’re expanding our range of professional studio monitor headphones with the launch of the HRM-5s and HRM-6s. Like the HRM-7s, the new additions draw on our sound reproduction heritage to bring you an accurate, neutral sound that’s perfect for monitoring your latest creations.

Both models have a newly designed 40 mm driver unit, which accurately reproduces frequencies up to 30 kHz (HRM-5) and 40 kHz (HRM-6), so you can hear every nuance of your tracks, while the bass reflex chamber in the housing gives excellent bass response. They’re comfortable even over long studio sessions thanks to a fully adjustable headband, memory foam ear pads and pivoting housings. Plus their folding design, detachable cables and carry case mean they’re compact and portable.

The HRM-6s take it a step further with an HD driver and two-layer damping structure to deliver enhanced clarity, reduced resonance and fast bass response. They also feature flat ear pads to create a snug fit and improved sound insulation.

I will be checking them out at Musikmesse and will for sure report back on my first impressions!
