IN SHORT |
|
Denon DJ just announced the LC6000 Prime DJ controller. The LC6000 is a stripped-down version of the SC6000 Prime, missing the audio interface and the screen. Apart from that, the LC6000 offers the same functionalities. It was designed to be paired with the SC6000 and its double-layer functionality, but as you can see from the images below, it can be used as a DJ Controller together with compatible mixers and other (4 channel) DJ controllers that use Serato DJ Pro, Virtual DJ, and djay Pro AI.
First impressions
I love the concept, and it’s a very smart move from Denon DJ. For USD 699, you can expand your current DJ setup, be it a standalone setup or a DJ controller setup, and add a high-quality physical deck. If you own and use a 4 channel DJ controller, you know how confusing it can be to be constantly switching between virtual decks.
Key Features
PROFESSIONAL BUILD QUALITY
Inspired by the SC6000’s professional build quality and aesthetics, the LC6000 features a rugged sub-chassis, grippy rubber buttons, and a premium brushed aluminum top panel that protects the unit in the toughest conditions
CUSTOMIZABLE JOG WHEEL
At the heart of the unit is a full-size 8.5”, capacitive touch jog wheel that features a high-definition central display. This color display shows playing track artwork or a custom DJ logo, layered with play head position and other essential performance information.
SMOOTH 100MM PITCH FADER
For accurate time adjustments, the LC6000 features a smooth 100mm pitch fader with LED’s at the top, bottom, and center to visually indicate the zero position and soft-takeover direction when syncing.
MULTI-MODE PERFORMANCE PADS
The LC6000’s eight, highly responsive performance pads offer various playback techniques. Set and trigger hot cues and loops, or remix on the fly with straight and triplet timed loop rolls and beat locked slices.
SEAMLESS LOOPING
Activating Auto Loops on the LC6000 is fluid and effortless. Turn the Auto Loop encoder to select the desired size, and push the encoder in to activate the loop. Active loop regions can also be shifted up and down the track timeline.
TRANSPORT CONTROLS
The structurally reinforced Play and Cue buttons offer a perfect balance of grippy texture, actuation travel, and long-term reliability. Designed to withstand years of repetitive rhythmic tapping and beat dropping.
NAVIGATION & NEEDLE DROP
Quickly browse and load tracks with the LC6000’s dedicated navigation controls. Songs can be loaded from the unit itself or the touchscreen of any connected Prime Series Media Player. Offering both touchscreen gesture or traditional tactical control workflows.
Pricing and Availability
The unit will cost USD 699 and be available in May 2021
