Many many months after the first release of OS X 10 (El Capitan) back in September 2015, a subsequent release of the OS is causing problems with DJ Gear.

This time, Pioneer DJ controllers are the victims, and notably the following ones:

  • DDJ-SX2
  • DDJ-SX/DDJ-SX-W/DDJ-SX-N
  • DDJ-S1 Serato DJ Edition
  • DDJ-S1
  • DDJ-SR
  • DDJ-SB2
  • DDJ-SB
  • DDJ-ERGO-V
  • DDJ-ERGO-K
  • DDJ-WeGO

If you rely on your setup to play live, don’t upgrade your Mac just yet, until things are safe.

How this is still happening is a mystery to me, and poses questions on how closely Apple and third-party manufactures work together to delivery stable, thrustworthy software. Apply, Pioneer DJ, please fix it!
